FBI agents board Baltimore cargo ship to interrogate crew

 April 16, 2024

Well, President Joe Biden and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg had better hope that they have their ducks in a row.

The FBI is officially launching a criminal probe into the Baltimore bridge collapse that killed six construction workers.

Agents will investigate whether the 22 employees on board knew the boat had serious systemic issues before they left the Maryland port on March 26.

Baltimore's mayor has said that the city is bringing in outside firms to "hold responsible all entities accountable for the Key Bridge tragedy."

He's already hired two different law firms to sue Grace Ocean Private, the Singapore-based company that owns the ship.

The investigation is starting just a few weeks after shocking footage was revealed showing the 110,000-ton ship ram into the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

Six constructions workers were sent to their death as the bridge collapsed onto the ship below and into the freezing river below.
