CNN axes Charles Barkley and Gayle King's show 'King Charles'

 April 16, 2024

The CNN weekly prime time talk show co-hosted by loudmouths Charles Barkley and Gayle King has ended after a short six-month run that failed to produce ratings.

The call-in show King Charles aired at 10 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday nights.

Reruns of the sitcom Friends and episodes of South Park were absolutely destroying the program in the ratings game.

As a matter of fact, even for CNN, the show was an absolute BOMB.

Despite CNN numbers being down in general, this was too low for even them.

It was the lowest-rated prime-time weeknight series debut on CNN since at least 2014.

In addition to the brutal viewership ratings, the show was also limited by star Barkley's hectic schedule.

Even Barkley had previously admitted that his crowded schedule made it difficult for the show to attract even loyal fans of him.
