Wisconsin Supreme Court won't clarify electoral map for possible recall election

Republicans loyal to former President Donald Trump are attempting to recall Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R) for not decertifying election results in that state, but they've been thrown a curve ball by the state Supreme Court, which refuses to clarify which electoral map would be used in a recall.

So far, organizers don't have enough signatures for a recall, but they are continuing to try to get them.

The court ruled in December that the current maps were invalid, should not be used in future elections, and that new maps agreed upon by the legislature and Governor Tony Evers (D) would take effect in November.

But if the recall happens before November, it was unclear which maps should be used.

The court on Wednesday said it declined "to further clarify or amend the opinion and order,” and said that the election commission should decide which maps are used. Under the previous maps, there would likely not be enough signatures to recall Vos, but if the new maps were used, there might be.

For his part, Vos called the Trump supporters trying to oust him “whack jobs and morons."
