A Wendy's employee was shot in South Chicago at 1 a.m. on Thursday when she refused to fill a DoorDash order an alleged driver said was placed there.

The worker told the driver she didn't have a record of the order and that her manager wouldn't allow her to fill it for him, and that's when the DoorDasher opened fire.

The Wendy's employee, who was not identified by name, received hospital treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The driver sped off and police are still looking for him. Wendy's said in a statement that it was cooperating with police to find the driver.

“Our number one priority is the safety of our employees,” the statement said. “We are deeply disturbed by this senseless act of violence and we are grateful that our team member will recover."

“We will do whatever we can to work with local law enforcement as they conduct their investigation," it continued.
