Robert F. Kennedy Jr. exiting Democrat primary, will run for president as an Independent

 October 1, 2023

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is planning to announce his exit from the Democrat primary and to launch his presidential campaign as an Independent next week, according to a report from Mediaite.

Kennedy's campaign is switching gears and will now spend a lot of time running “attack ads” against the Democratic National Committee as RFK targets the party that worked behind the scenes to hamper his challenge to President Biden.

A Kennedy insider told Mediaite that, "Bobby feels that the DNC is changing the rules to exclude his candidacy, so an independent run is the only way to go."

RFK has an axe to grind with the DNC, as it essentially stonewalled him from challenging President Biden. The current president's campaign had no answer for RFK's attacks.

The New York Times reported, “Democrats worry that a third-party run by Mr. Kennedy could draw votes away from Mr. Biden and help elect former President Donald J. Trump."

Right now, RFK is making a strong case to moderate Democrats who don't want to vote for a Republican but are also averse to Biden's radical platform. That could make the difference in 2024 which promises to be an incredibly tight election.
