Police arrested the alleged parents of two dead baby boys who were kept in glass jars and soaked in liquid in a Hong Kong residence, after a housekeeper found the jars while cleaning a vacated apartment to ready it for a new tenant.

The bodies did not appear to have any injuries, and no birth records were found of the babies.

The jars found were about 12 inches high. Police also found that the bodies of the infants had not sustained any visible harm.

A preliminary autopsy could not determine when they died or any cause of death but said that the age of both at the time of death was between 24 and 30 weeks of gestation.

The man and woman arrested were believed to be the former tenants of the apartment and were 24 and 22 years old.

The investigation is ongoing and hopes to answer questions still surrounding the discovery.
