Lawsuit asks Wisconsin court to strike down governor's 400-year veto

 April 18, 2024

Wisconsin Democrat Gov. Tony Evers recently utilized a partial veto to lock in a school funding increase...

...for the next 400 YEARS.

Look, I'm all for supporting our kids and making sure that America's teachers and the rest of our education system gets what it needs.

But to pretend that you have ANY idea what the world will be like in the year 2425 is absolutely ridiculous.

Who knows how America will be governed at that time?

Will the country still exist?

Might we be bigger and stronger, or is America at its peak now?

The Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce Litigation Center has filed a petition asking the State Supreme Court to strike down Evers' veto.

The issue will now be in the hands of Wisconsin's liberal-controlled state Supreme Court.

Evers made the partial veto by taking a portion of the legislative language that was supposed to end at the conclusion of the 2024-25 school year by crossing out the "20" and the hyphen, leaving the provisions of the measure to expire in 2425.
