Jenna Ortega exits 'Scream VII' the day after co-worker is fired over Hamas comments

Jenna Ortega left Scream VII just one day after her costar and onscreen sister was fired for making anti-Semitic remarks in favor of Hamas, but sources said that didn't have anything to do with her decision.

Deadline said that Ortega's exit had been in process before Melissa Barerra's firing earlier in the week.

Variety said that Ortega quit because she was already committed to the Netflix series Wednesday.

Ortega and Barerra played sisters in the previous two Scream movies.

Notably, Ortega has reposted anti-Israel comments previously, calling the Hamas attack a response to "Israeli apartheid."

Co-star Barerra was fired after she called Israel's response to Hamas "genocide."
