Country singer Colt Ford has massive heart attack following Arizona performance

 April 6, 2024

The country music world was shocked last week to learn that one of their own had suffered a major medical emergency.

According to Fox News, following a concert in Arizona, country music star Colt Ford suffered a major heart attack, which immediately landed him in the hospital in "critical condition," reports indicated.

His representative confirmed that the 54-year-old country music singer had just played a show at the Dierks Bently's Whiskey Row before suffering the cardiac event.

The rep told Fox News, "He is currently in stable, but critical condition in the ICU."

According to later reports, Ford was taken to Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona for treatment, where he remains in "stable" condition, thankfully.

Ford is a beloved country singer, and has plenty of hits to his name.

Fox News noted:

Along with several No. 1 hits, he originally recorded Jason Aldean’s "Dirt Road Anthem," which has garnered over 927 million worldwide streams. Ford, born Jason Farris Brown, became known for his unique ability to blend country and rap genres.

Ford claims the mantle of being the only artist to have a No. 1 album on Billboard Top Country Albums and a No. 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart.

The New York Post noted:

In 2022, Ford was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, a chronic neuromuscular autoimmune disease that causes weakness in the voluntary muscles.

The singer previously said the disease affected his eye more than his throat or face.

Given his popularity, his fans and many colleagues wished him a speedy recovery on social media, with many offering prayers for him and his family.

"Y’all my close friend @coltford needs your prayers," Taylor Crosby wrote on X.

Another X user wrote, "Jason Brown/ Colt Ford Update: He is holding steady. Not much improvement, but also not going backwards, so that’s good."

"Prayers up for country rap artist Colt Ford who is in ICU after suffering a heart attack after a performance in Arizona," another fan wrote, which was one of countless similar messages as his fans wish him all the best moving forward.
