Chinese illegal immigrant who crossed southern border sentenced to 12 years for possession of child porn

A Chinese illegal immigrant who crossed the southern border into Texas was sentenced to 12 years in prison after law enforcement found child pornography on his cell phone.

The individual, identified as Tong Sun, appeared before U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton who sentenced him to 144 months following a child pornography conviction.

Sung pleaded guilty to the charge on Dec. 20, 2023, after he was arrested crossing into Texas near the border town of Roma.

Roma is notorious for being a hot spot of human trafficking activity and that fact combined with Sung's charges paints a damning picture.

Sung had given Border Patrol agents permission to search his phone and claimed he intended to erase the content upon entering the United States.

This horrifying case has put a spotlight on the border crisis created by President Joe Biden's immigration policies. Biden's terrible policies have opened the door for countless unsavory individuals like Sung to enter the United States.
