Americans will make the 2024 vote an 'act of defiance,' author writes

 August 30, 2023

While it's true that U.S. voters will take to the polls next year and likely vote on a couple of major issues, such as the high cost of living, illegal immigration, and a growing crime wave, according to Emma-Jo Morris, they'll also be voting against authoritarianism.

That's due to the obvious political witch hunt faced by former President Donald Trump, who now has to deal with four indictments as he mounts his 2024 election campaign.

In a Breitbart piece, Morris laid out why she believes the next election will be unlike anything in U.S. history.

"Leading up to the 2024 election, there are a number of pressing issues Americans will consider — rampant illegal immigration, skyrocketing inflation and price of living, violent crime marring cities — but those issues are now against the backdrop of a palpable shift toward authoritarianism. And a vote for Trump in 2024 will be a vote of defiance," Morris wrote.

She added: "The American people have been watching over years as the government’s authoritarian tendencies have been revealed."

Morris noted how the government's abuse of power ramped up to unprecedented levels during the course of the pandemic, which was the first red flag for many American voters.

The weaponization of the justice system in what many believe to be an attempt to hamstring Trump's 2024 election chances is likely the final nail in the coffin for millions of voters -- perhaps many that never would have considered voting for Trump in the past.

Morris pointed to the bombshell revelations over the past year that confirmed the government's role in actively censoring Americans through the popular social media platforms.

"They would later learn that their government, in coordination with some of their largest and most influential media and communications companies, worked together to ensure that information would be censored in order to ensure the outcome of that election," Morris wrote.

She added, "Every time one of these incidents occurred, we lamented about how unprecedented the event was, but still went about our lives and waited for the moment to pass. This time, however, feels different, as the American people watch an escalation, with the leader of the political opposition being hounded and threatened with jail, and the death penalty."

That's already being proven in the wake of the release of Trump's mugshot from his booking at the Fulton County Jail.

The former president has raised record amounts of campaign cash and continues to roll forward with astonishing polling numbers in state and national surveys.

It truly feels like more Americans than ever, from all sides of the political spectrum, are fed up, and will likely use that frustration as a voting factor next year.

Only time will tell, but something has definitely changed, and next year's elections will undoubtedly make history in ways we can't even imagine yet.
