Woman arrested after throwing mysterious substance at Kamala Harris' motorcade

 March 10, 2024

A woman was arrested in south Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday evening after she threw an unidentified red liquid at Vice President Kamala Harris' motorcade.

Sgt. Phil Krynsky, a spokesperson for the Phoenix Police Department, stated that Anasilvia Gomez-Zamora, 30, was on the sidewalk as the motorcade went by when she threw the liquid on eight Phoenix police officers.

That woman was later located as the motorcade didn't stop, and she was arrested.

She now faces charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, endangerment, and resisting arrest, according to a statement from Phoenix police.

Phoenix police have said little about the woman's motive in throwing the liquid at the motorcade.

It seems unlikely that this attack was politically motivated, as that would have been immediately apparent. It's more likely that it was an act of random outburst driven by bizarre behavior that has become extremely common in American cities.
