Washington Post columnist calls on Vice President Kamala Harris to step down

 March 18, 2024

Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris on Friday in an article calling on Harris to step down as she has become a "burden to the Democratic ticket."

Parker's article was a massive shot at Harris as talks of replacing her have been brewing for months, but no one in Democrat circles has come out and outright said it until now.

The Washington Post endorsing Harris's removal from the Democrat ticket signals to others that it's open season on Harris.

Parker stated, "The Kamala conundrum comes down to this: She was picked because she was Black and female, a combo tantamount to job security. Now that she has become a burden to the Democratic ticket, Biden can’t fire her. He can’t risk alienating his base. Full stop. The seriousness of this situation can’t be overstated. Biden’s diminishing faculties, notwithstanding his relatively successful State of the Union address, and his increasing physical frailty are concerning."

While Parker took obvious steps to protect herself, the intent of this article is still clear. Harris may have been a mistake from the beginning and going into a crucial election, she could be a factor that loses Democrats the race.

The 2024 presidential election is looking to be a tight contest with former President Donald Trump taking leads in every key swing state. Joe Biden needs every advantage he can get and having to hide his Vice President from the public is anything but an advantage.
