'Uncommitted' option gets 11 delegates in Wisconsin

Minnesota voters protesting President Joe Biden's stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict gave 11 delegates to "uncommitted" out of the state's 75 delegates, nearly 19% of the total.

Biden still got 64 of Minnesota's delegates with 70% of the vote, but the protest vote was large enough to be harmful in a close general election contest.

A "Listen to Michigan" campaign before that primary suggested people vote "uncommitted" to try to get Biden to change course on Israel and Hamas. In that primary, 13% voted for "uncommitted," or about 100,000 votes.

In North Carolina and Massachusetts, tens of thousands similarly voted "no preference" rather than for Biden.

Biden said that his team would work hard to get people's votes and that he is committed to peace in Gaza.

This kind of trend toward voting for no one rather than for him is yet another weak spot in an already weakened re-election bid, however.
