A month after former President Donald Trump released his now-famous Fulton County mugshot, polling shows that he has a massive lead in the 2024 GOP primary race in Georgia even though he faces serious charges there.

Trump has 58% support in the state, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis coming in a distant second at 16%.

All other characters, including former South Carolina Gov. and U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Vice President Mike Pence, are in the single digits.

The poll only surveyed 245 Georgians and has a 6.3% margin of error. Even that isn't enough to negate Trump's 42% advantage.

So far, the four indictments against him have only helped his popularity, but the tide could turn at any time if any of the indictments result in a conviction.

In national polling, Trump and President Joe Biden are tied within the margin of error, with Trump just slightly above Biden according to RealClearPolitics's polling average.
