Texas toddler dies after Uber driver accidentally runs her over
Tragedy has struck in a Texas neighborhood.
A young toddler stepped out of an Uber ride and began to head home with her caretaker.
Unfortunately, the driver, Muhammad Khan, did not see the toddler step out in front of the vehicle.
As soon as he realized what had happened, he parked the car, jumped out, and attempted to help the young child.
Unfortunately, Khan was not able to free her from the left tire.
Strangers nearby who witnessed the incident then attacked Khan, leaving him hospitalized.
Now, the local police department in the area has released a statement on the incident.
“Mr. Khan stopped the vehicle, but the juvenile was stuck under the left rear tire. Mr. Khan attempted to move the vehicle but was unsuccessful due to all parties assaulting him and pulling him from the vehicle,” the statement read.
Both Khan and the toddler were taken to the hospital for their injuries.
Khan survived, the child did not.
