Journalist Megyn Kelly wrote on X Friday that the decision by Judge Scott McAfee to require either DA Fani Willis or prosecutor Nathan Wade to exit the election interference case against former President Donald Trump "splits the baby."

"Judge splits the baby," she said. "Obviously Wade will go and Fani will stay. It’s a cowardly decision by the judge but still a major win for this defense team."

The decision came after testimony revealed that Wade billed more than $728,000 in fees to taxpayers and took exotic vacations with Willis using some of the funds.

She claimed to have paid him back in cash, but could not prove it. McAfee wasn't convinced she enriched herself using Wade's money or taxpayer money, given that she was not destitute to begin with.

"The District Attorney did not act in a manner consistent with the theory that she orchestrated a financial scheme to enrich herself (or gain favor with Wade) by prolonging this prosecution or engaging in excessive litigation," he wrote.

Kelly said she wasn't convinced Willis would continue with the case against Trump anyway, since there were bound to be multiple investigations into her career and background because of the revelations.
