Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher announce plans to divorce

 April 7, 2024

Actor Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife, Isla Fisher, revealed on Friday that they were jointly filing for divorce after over a decade of being married.

In a joint statement posted to Instagram, the couple stated, "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage."

The statement continued, "We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy."

Cohen and Fisher met in 2001 at a party in Sydney and Cohen told the New York Times, "She was hilarious. We were at a very pretentious party, and me and her bonded over taking the mick out of the other people in the party. I knew instantly. I don't know if she did."

However, clearly, something has changed in the past twenty years as the two are going their separate ways.

Being newly single will give Cohen more time to relive his glory days as Borat and get laughs from Hollywood by bravely attacking former President Donald Trump.
