Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) responded to a video Monday that showed him being tackled by police and handcuffed at a rodeo in White Deer, Texas after he tried to help a girl in medical distress.

The video showed Jackson, who is a doctor, approaching a group of people gathered around a 15-year-old girl authorities think is having a seizure.

Next thing anyone knows, Jackson is separated from the group by police, tackled to the ground, and handcuffed.

Jackson is also shown berating the police and swearing at them, saying he's going to report them to the governor.

He said he was glad the video came out and maintained that the police acted wrongly. He apologized for his language but not for trying to help the girl.

"If I had to do it again, I would still step up & act in a life-threatening situation. I will ALWAYS help someone in need. I WILL NOT apologize for that," he posted on X about the incident.
