Paul Ryan vows to skip the Republican National Convention if Donald Trump wins the nomination in 2024

 February 27, 2023

Former House Speaker Paul Ryan told reporters that he will be skipping the 2024 Republican National Convention if former President Donald Trump wins the nomination for president.

The RNC convention will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but if Trump is chosen as the man to take back the White House, Ryan will be staying home as a form of protest.

A reporter for ABC 12 asked Ryan "For the Republican convention in Milwaukee, where will you be?"

Ryan responded by saying, "It depends on who the nominee is. I'll be here if it's somebody not named Trump."

When the reporter pressed further by asking, "You won't show up if it's Trump?" Ryan made it clear that he has no interest in "participating in that."

Ryan's position shouldn't come as a surprise as he represents a wing of establishment Republicans that Trump pushed out of power. No doubt Ryan isn't interested in celebrating a potential return of Donald Trump, the same man who effectively destroyed Ryan's influence in the Republican Party.
