Socialite Paris Hilton, 43, said during a recent summit called “A Day of Unreasonable Conversation,” held on March 25 at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, that she hoped her children were not as dependant on their phones and on social media as their mother.

“I just want my children just to feel just so loved and seen and want to be that next generation of someone that brings positivity to the world and just to have big hearts and big loving,” she said on a panel titled "To Suffer Alone." “That’s something that’s really important to me.”

Hilton has a while until she has to worry about such things; she has a 14-month-old and a four-month-old through surrogacy with husband Carter Reum.

“So I feel that’s really taken a lot from children. Kids are not going outside anymore and playing as much because everyone’s just so busy on their phones,” she explained. “So, hopefully, my kids won’t be as addicted to social media as I am.”

Hilton has experienced her share of online hate, another harmful aspect of social media.

When she posted a photo of her then nine-month-old son on social media, users mocked his unusual head size and compared him with Stewie (a cartoon character) from the animated series Family Guy.
