With Rep. Mike Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, recently becoming America's new House speaker, he's opening himself up to criticism from a wider range of liberals who now know who he is.
There's one thing that liberals are hammering him on already:
Johnson is currently in a covenant marriage, and liberals do NOT like that.
A covenant marriage limits under what circumstances couples may divorce, something which really puts a damper on liberals' desires for free love.
Johnson, despite their criticism, has no plans to change or apologize for who he is.
"My wife and I both come from traditional Christian households," Johnson said. "My own parents are divorced. As anyone who goes through that knows, that was a traumatic thing for our whole family. I’m a big proponent of marriage and fidelity and all the things that go with it, and I’ve seen firsthand the devastation divorce can cause."
