Doorbell camera captures chase as woman flees truck in suspected domestic violence incident

 February 26, 2024

A doorbell camera caught the moment a woman ran down a dark street in Denver while being chased by a man in a truck.

Denver police are investigating the incident and revealed that the footage was taken in a neighborhood by Interstate 225 and Yosemite Street.

The woman and her partner remain unnamed, but the case is being actively investigated as a domestic violence situation.

Franklin Erickson of The Initiative, a domestic violence survivor support group, reacted to the footage by saying, "Healthy relationships don't escalate to attempting to mow your partner down with a car. Very clearly, a situation where this person needs help. Very clearly a situation where her safety is in jeopardy."

The man in the truck was thankfully arrested the next day, and the woman was unharmed despite the harrowing situation that was captured on the camera.

Domestic violence is a serious issue, and while it can be complicated and hard to handle, Americans ought to pay attention and watch out for the telltale signs before deadly situations unfold.
