Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) had to delete an earlier tweet on Friday in which he complained that he was "bumped" from CNN because of British Royal Kate Middleton's cancer announcement.

He retweeted an announcement by CNN that it would have a special report at 2 p.m. about the Princess of Wales' cancer diagnosis, adding the caption, "Can confirm! I was supposed to be on @CNN at 2 p.m. to talk about the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act and the millions of lives it has saved, but my interview was bumped by this much more important topic."

Apparently, his Democrat myopia prevented him from realizing how insensitive that sounded, at least at the time he wrote it.

Of course, he may not have known the report would disclose that Middleton was diagnosed with cancer after her abdominal surgery in January, when post-operative testing was done.

She has not carried out any royal duties since late December, but the mysterious and tight-lipped circumstances of her absence were leading to wild speculation that she was divorcing Prince William or was deathly ill. The royal family finally decided to come clean to counteract the rumors.

The princess is just 42 years old.
