Chicago ravaged by gun violence over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend

One would have thought that after Lori Lightfoot let Chicago devolve into one of the most violent and dangerous cities in America that Windy City voters would have replaced her with someone who cares.

Unfortunately, they did not.

Mayor Brandon Johnson (D), who's so radically progressive that it makes Lightfoot look like a card-carrying MAGA Republican, has let Chicago completely implode with raging, non-stop violence.

He embraces the soft-on-crime approach of the radical element of his party, and the toll it's taking on Chicago is yet again proven every weekend as gangbangers and bad guys, who don't give a rip about gun laws, shoot people casually and without fear.

According to CBS News, by Saturday night in the once-great city of Chicago, some 29 people had been shot, ages ranging from 16 to 72. Sadly, there was even a fatality involving a young man.

Many of the shooting victims who were transferred to local hospitals were listed in serious or critical condition, and the death count could actually rise in the coming days.

The outlet listed most of the shooting reports, which at a glance, looks as though majority stemmed from the city's out-of-control gang problem, as several "drive-by" shootings were reported.

One of those drive-by shootings took five victims in one pass, and all of the victims were teen boys. Luckily, none suffered life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.

CBS News noted:

At 12:35 p.m., in the 2400 block of South Albany Avenue, a 16-year-old boy was shot multiple times and was self-transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

Breitbart noted:

Hours later, just after midnight on Thursday, five teenagers ranging in age from 15 to 18 years, were shot in a drive-by incident “neat the United Center.” Each of the five emerged from the attack in good condition, surviving their wounds.

Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan commented on the weekly Chicago gun violence report, pointing out that the city is one of many Democrat-led cities that seem to have the worst crime rates in the country, and have become the most dangerous.

It should also be noted that Chicago literally has some of the strongest "gun control" laws on the books, yet the city is ravaged by gun violence week in and week out.

It's almost as if the bad guys don't care about gun laws. Imagine that.
