Boeing CEO Stepping Down After Series Of Alarming Incidents

 March 26, 2024

Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun has officially tendered his resignation.

After several recent accidents and numerous airplane safety scandals, Calhoun was backed into a corner.

The most damning accident on a Boeing plane happened on an Alaska Airlines flight when a faulty panel blew off the plane and left passengers completely exposed at 16,000 feet in the air.

“As you all know, the Alaska Airlines Flight 1282 accident was a watershed moment for Boeing. We must continue to respond to this accident with humility and complete transparency. We also must inculcate a total commitment to safety and quality at every level of our company,” Calhoun said.

Calhoun also said he knows that Boeing “will come through this moment a better company, building on all the learnings [they] accumulated as [they] worked together to rebuild Boeing over the last number of years.”

Do you believe Calhoun's departure as CEO is sufficient accountability?
