Trump lawyers say key trial witness refused subpoena

Donald Trump's legal team said that it tried to serve adult film star Stormy Daniels a subpoena when she arrived for an event at a bar in Brooklyn last month.

When Trump's team approached Daniels, she reportedly refused to take the papers and simply walked away.

A process server working for Trump's lawyers said that he approached Daniels with documents demanding information related to a documentary released about her life and involvement with Trump.

When Daniels refused to accept the papers, the process server was forced to "leave them at her feet," according to a court filing.

"I stated she was served as I identified her and explained to her what the documents were," the process server said. "She did not acknowledge me and kept walking inside the venue, and she had no expression."

Trump will surely hope that Daniels' refusal to cooperate will not negatively impact his chances in court.
