Tennessee man, 81, stabs daughter repeatedly

An 81-year-old Tennessee man was charged with attempted murder on Monday in Nashville after he stabbed his daughter repeatedly and admitted he was trying to kill her.

Floyd Allen Seay reportedly became involved in a verbal argument with his daughter outside his home. The argument escalated to a physical alteration in which Seay threw his daughter down onto the ground and hit her in the face repeatedly.

Police responded to Seay's home around 1:30 p.m. on Monday and found the victim with multiple stab wounds.

She was taken to the hospital and stabilized with serious injuries.

After Seay stabbed his daughter, he reportedly handed the knife to a neighbor and said, "I tried to kill her, but I couldn't."

He also told investigators that his anger had been "building up" and that he would do it again if he got the chance.
