Speaker Mike Johnson officially releases J6 surveillance tapes to American public

 November 19, 2023

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has officially released the surveillance tapes from the Jan. 6 protests at the U.S. Capitol that have been at the center of a massive controversy for the past three years.

Johnson posted a link to the tapes on X with a statement saying, "To restore America’s trust and faith in their Government we must have transparency. This is another step towards keeping the promises I made when I was elected to be your Speaker."

The full release of the J6 tapes has undermined the Democrat narrative about the protest, which has painted the day's events as a violent insurrection.

Instead, the tapes show protestors wandering the Capitol with police officers standing around, and in some cases, officers acting almost as tour guides for what can only be described as peaceful protestors.

This flies in the face of representations from Democrats, especially Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who was the face of the Jan. 6 Committee that investigated the incident and used it to tarnish former President Donald Trump.

Democrats alleged a violent insurrection caused by Trump, and thousands of Americans were locked up and had their lives ruined. Now that Americans have the truth, there will be a lot of questions to answer about the damage done.
