Sec. of State Shenna Bellows 'swatted' day after removing Trump from Maine ballot
Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, the Maine Democrat who unilaterally interpreted the U.S. Constitution to justify removing former President Donald Trump from the ballot next year is already having a rough go.
According to CNN, Bellows was the recent target of a "swatting" attempt, which is when someone calls local police and reports an incident, usually something egregious, to trigger a large police response.
Several Republican members of Congress have been swatted in recent weeks.
The incident at Bellows' residence in Manchester happened just a day after she announced Trump's removal from the Maine GOP primary ballot.
JUST IN—The home of Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows was “swatted” Friday evening, police confirmed Saturday. On Thursday, Bellows unilaterally blocked Trump from the state’s 2024 primary ballot.

CNN noted:
Police say no residents were at the Manchester home when the incident occurred around 8:25 p.m. Maine State Police officers “conducted an exterior check of the residence and an interior sweep” of Bellows’ home at her request but did not locate anything suspicious, according to a statement released Saturday.
Now that she's a media darling on the liberal media circuit, Bellows, in a recent CNN interview, stated that she's received threats in the wake of making her unprecedented decision to remove Trump from the ballot, against the will of Maine voters.
"We have received threatening communications," she told CNN.
Bellows added, "I certainly worry about the safety of people that I love, people around me, and people charged with protecting me and working alongside me."
"That being said, we are a nation of laws, and that’s what’s really important. So, I have been laser-focused on that obligation to uphold the Constitution."
It should be noted that Bellows, who's not a lawyer, was somehow able to channel her inner constitutional legal scholar to make the bombshell decision to remove Trump from the ballot, knowing full well the attention it would bring her.
Social media users reacted to the situation, with many crying foul, and others noting that there wasn't any sense of outrage when conservatives or Republican lawmakers are swatted.
"This is a false flag. Nobody knows who this person is to speak of and they wanted to make it look like a Trump supporter did it. NEXT," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "I’m smelling a jussie smollet moment here."
