Peter Navarro ordered to report to prison March 19

Peter Navarro, who once served as an economic adviser to former President Donald Trump, has been sentenced to time in jail.

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta made the decision that Navarro will spend four months behind bars for refusing to comply with the House Jan. 6 committee's investigation.

He is 74 years old.

John Crabb, the Assistant U.S. Attorney has released a statement on Navarro’s situation.

“The committee was investigating an attack on the very foundation of our democracy. There could be no more serious investigation undertaken by Congress,” said Crabb.

Prosecutors also slammed Navarro, saying he had “utter contempt for the rule of law” as well as “utter disregard” for the investigation.

Navarro said his “honest belief” was that Trump had given him executive privilege.

The judge did not care.

Now, the question on everyone’s minds is if Mehta’s ruling will end up before the Supreme Court.

Do you think the justices will get involved with Navarro’s verdict?
