The U.S. Justice Department has asked for fast extradition of alleged Sinaloa Drug Cartel assassin Néstor Isidro Pérez Salas, also known as “El Nini."

Salas was arrested by Mexican police on Wednesday on a 2021 U.S. indictment that charged him with cocaine and methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy, possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and witness retaliation.

“We are now seeking El Nini’s swift extradition from Mexico to face justice here in the United States,” Garland said.

A $3 million reward was offered by U.S. officials for information leading to Salas' arrest.

Salas allegedly tortured and killed enemies of Sinaloa.

The arrest is important, but will it stop the drug trafficking? I doubt it.
