Judge Arthur Engoron, who is overseeing New York Attorney General Letitia James's fraud case against former President Donald Trump, has allegedly received hundreds of death threats

A filing by Charles Hollon, court officer-captain in the Department of Public Safety for the Judicial Threats Assessment Unit, claimed that Judge Engoron has been virtually flooded with threats as the trial has intensified.

Hollon stated, "On a daily basis, the judge and his staff are being inundated with hundreds of harassing and threatening phone calls, voicemail messages, and emails, that has resulted in the Judicial Threats Assessment Unit having to constantly reassess and evaluate what security protections to put in place to ensure the safety of the judge and those around him."

He then went on to claim that the death threats should be "considered to be serious and credible and not hypothetical or speculative."

It is no surprise that Hollon and Judge Engoron are claiming that these death threats are serious and not just vague threats from unhinged individals who don't have the means or intent to actually follow through on their threats.

Regardless, Hollon and Engoron are determined to take these threats at face value as it strengthens their argument to impose a gag order on Trump in the middle of one of the most politicized trials in American history.
