High school football player murder after bragging about killing younger boy

 March 31, 2024

Seventeen-year-old Talan Renner and six other boys were arrested and charged over the death of Preston Lord at an Arizona house party.

Renner reportedly later posted to his Snapchat "I got in a fight, a big group fight and I accidentally killed a kid. I guess I'm just too strong." He also admitted to throwing "hammer punches" at Lord leaving him in critical condition.

Lord died of a brain injury two days after the beating and the bullies reportedly danced on him and performed simulated rape acts while he lay on the ground dying from the beating.

Renner reportedly recorded the beating on his phone which he showed to friends bragging, "Oh, I put this kid on life support."

There is no doubt that Renner and the other boys who participated in this committed a heinous and horrific act. What's worse though is the fact that Renner's parents attempted to destroy evidence and frame another boy for the murder.

It took immense public outrage and authorities took months to name the suspects due to the wealth of Renner's father. Once this situation is dealt with, Arizonans may want to ensure that those in law enforcement who attempted to cover for Renner and his family are relieved of duty.
