Shannon Murray, an anchor on FOX 4 in Texas, broke down in tears live on air after revealing that her unborn daughter has been diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia, a rare heart disease.

Murray's daughter has a hole in the left and right side of her heart and does not have a pulmonary valve.

The television personality stated, "In the short-term we're focused on fighting for our daughter and being her advocates, while also trying to remain joyful and excited about the pregnancy and becoming parents."

Murray explained that once her daughter is born, she will have to undergo immediate emergency surgery.

In a post to Instagram, Murray said, "There are still some unknowns, but I am thankful we’ve had time to wrap our heads around this and do as much research as possible."

Americans should keep Murray in their thoughts as her family undergoes this tremendously difficult challenge.
