Five-time deported illegal alien accused of killing a 10-year-old boy in hit-and-run

Rogelio Ortiz-Olivas, who has been deported from the United States five different times, was arrested and charged with drunk driving and causing a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 10-year-old boy.

The victim, 10-year-old Alex “AJ” Wise, Jr., was walking home from school on Feb. 8 when he was struck by Ortiz-Olivas, who fled the scene and left Wise in critical condition.

Wise was airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, but ultimately died of his injuries the next day.

According to a GoFundMe set up by Wise's family members, they described him as the "sweetest, coolest, funniest little boy you ever would meet."

The family needs help to cover funeral expenses, and anyone who can give should help out, if possible.

As for Ortiz-Olivas, he should never have been in the country to commit this terrible crime. This story is a somber reminder that letting in thousands of unvetted immigrants has very real consequences, and lives are being lost that otherwise might not have been.
