Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) admitted on Sunday on CNN's State of the Union that the classified documents found at his office and residences are ultimately President Joe Biden's responsibility.

“To think that any of them ended up in boxes in storage one place or the other is just unacceptable," Durbin said.

He did try to make it sound like Biden was better than former President Donald Trump when it came to having the documents.

"He has shown total cooperation in this effort. That’s a sharp contrast to President Trump,” he claimed.

That's not exactly true; Biden initially conferred with his officials before cooperating when the documents were discovered, and they kept it from the public until after the midterm elections.

Durbin ultimately concluded, “Well, of course. Let’s be honest about it — when that information is found. It diminishes the stature of any person in possession of them. It’s not supposed to happen. Whether it was the fault of a staffer or an attorney, it makes no difference. The elected official bears ultimate responsibility.”
