Donald Trump gives Rep. Lauren Boebert his 'complete and total endorsement'

 March 4, 2024

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), who has been in the headlines over the past year for several controversies, the latest being her teen son's arrest, received a huge boost this week.

According to the Daily Mail, former President Donald Trump offered Boebert a full-throated endorsement, describing her as a "trusted America First Fighter" and a "proven conservative."

The endorsement came on the heels of the arrest of her oldest son, 18, on a mix of 22 felony and misdemeanor charges related to a string of vehicle break-ins.

The Mail noted:

Boebert's 18-year-old son Tyler was released from jail Wednesday facing 22 charges, including five felonies, related to property thefts in the Rifle, Colorado area, with one victim saying she now can't afford to pay for brain surgery.

Trump offered his standard "complete and total endorsement" of Boebert in a Saturday Truth Social post.

"Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is a Proven Conservative and Effective Leader who delivers for Colorado, and our America First agenda. She has led the fight to Impeach Joe Biden, Stop Illegal Immigration, Defend the Second Amendment, Protect our Wonderful Ranchers and Farmers, Support our Military and Veterans, Secure our Natural Resources to Pursue Energy Dominance, and Stand Up to the Radical Democrats who want to Destroy our Beautiful Country," Trump wrote.

He added, "Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is a trusted America First Fighter, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District!"

For her part, Boebert responded enthusiastically to Trump's endorsement announcement in an X post.

"It’s my honor to have the endorsement of the greatest President our country has ever known - Donald J. Trump. It will be such a privilege to work alongside him in 2024 to deliver results for Colorado & get the entire country back on track!" she wrote.

Given that she switched districts earlier this year, Boebert will have more of a challenge holding onto her congressional seat.

A staggering field of 10 different Republican candidates are gunning for the seat she's now seeking. While she has the advantage as far as fundraising, a recent straw poll put her in the middle of the pack, in fifth place.

Colorado voters will place their presidential primary votes on Super Tuesday but won't be able to cast their congressional primary votes until June 25.

Only time will tell if Trump's endorsement is enough to push her into first place for the win.
