HBO Real Time host Bill Maher blasted former President Barack Obama on his show Friday for comments he said attempted to establish a "moral equivalency" between Israel and Hamas, who have been at war for over a month.

“I must say I am struggling with people’s moral equivalencies, still,” Maher said during a panel discussion. “I mean, Barack Obama, who has rarely disappointed me, did so this week. His statement — I mean, it’s not a horrible statement — but he said, ‘If you want to solve the problem, then you have to take in the whole truth, and then you have to admit nobody’s hands are clean.’”

Obama came out strongly in support of Israel at first, but his foundation didn't like it, so he backtracked, claiming that there was fault on "both sides" and calling for a ceasefire. Obama has stood by his later statement even though Hamas attacked Israel and killed 1,400 of its citizens, mostly civilians, including hundreds of women and children.

The terrorists did not just kill people, either. They violently raped and gang-raped women and young girls, beheaded infants, and put some into ovens that they then turned on, burning the helpless babies to death. They also abducted over 200 Israelis and an estimated 10 Americans that it is holding for ransom to try to get concessions from Israel and possibly the U.S.

There is not and can never be a moral equivalence between Israel, which has gone out of its way to inform civilians when a target must be bombed, and the violent butchery of Hamas.

Hamas is called a terrorist organization for a reason, and no one who makes any sense would see a moral equivalence there.
