Trump a 'threat to democracy,' 'future of our children,' Pelosi says

Former President Donald Trump must be ecstatic to be living rent-free in Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (R-CA) head.

She’s dreaming of his defeat while reading polls predicting his victory, and she just can't resist catastrophizing that outcome.

“He is trying to crawl back into the White House, but we cannot let that happen, she told MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell on Wednesday. "I say that with all due respect in the world for the people who may have voted for the former president but they have to make a decision, think about our democracy, our flag, our Constitution, the future of our children in a democratic state that is a model to the world.”

She also shared an erroneous definition of democracy while saying that Trump would threaten it.

"Nothing less is at stake in this election then our democracy, and that democracy means your freedom to have access to health insurance, your own decision-making about your family’s size and timing and the rest, your freedom to have education, read of books that aren’t banned, your ability to be who you want to be in this country," she said.

Obviously, Trump is a threat to big government social welfare policies and abortion rights and undoing every liberal thing President Joe Biden did for four years, as well he should be. But that's not what democracy is, no matter what Pelosi tries to say.
