Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Golden Richards, who won two Super Bowls with the team, passed away this past week from congestive heart failure at the age of 73.

Richards' nephew confirmed his passing in a post on Facebook on Friday morning.

Lance Richards wrote, "I will forever remember going hunting and talking Dallas Cowboy football. He was a kind and sweet soul and I'm so happy he's not suffering anymore."

Richards was selected in the second round of the 1973 Draft by Dallas and would later play for the Chicago Bears and the Denver Broncos, the same team he beat in Super Bowl XII.

Richards retired in 1980 after amassing 22 receptions for 2,136 yards and 17 touchdowns and ending his career as a beloved Cowboys legend from the team's golden years.

In a 1995 interview, Richards explained, "Everyone assumes my most memorable moment was the Super Bowl, but it wasn't. It was every time it was third-and-6, and I caught an 8-yard out to keep the drive going. The camaraderie in the huddle. Those plays are the most memorable."

No doubt he will be missed by family and fans, but he leaves behind a memorable career and a strong legacy.
