Jill Biden launches tour of battleground states as president stays away from public

First lady Jill Biden appears to have officially taken over for her husband on the campaign trail, as she is touring battleground states and attacking former President Donald Trump.

Mrs. Biden appeared at an event in Atlanta, Georgia, where she attacked Trump, saying that he had "spent a lifetime tearing us down and devaluing our existence."

Media outlets noted that the appearance by Jill Biden marked a stark departure from her previous role in the Biden campaign.

Her Atlanta appearance indicates that she is taking a more aggressive stance on the campaign trail, presumably to cover up for her husband's absence and general lack of energy.

The president is too tired and unfit for the campaign trail but of course the White House can't admit that. The only option is to trot out the first lady and hope that voters don't notice that the commander in chief is having his wife campaign for him.

As for Trump, this aggressive shot from the first lady is a gift as he will use it to highlight that Biden isn't fit enough to campaign, let alone be president of the United States.
