Actor Gary Sinise's Son Dies At Young Age Of 33

Gary Sinise, perhaps best known for his role as Lt. Dan in the smash hit film Forrest Gump, is dealing with a family tragedy right now.

His son, Mac Sinise, passed away at the age of 33.

Reports indicate that Mac lost his lengthy battle with cancer.

Gary Sinise, who is 68 years old, revealed the heartbreaking news on his foundation's website.

Alongside the news was a lengthy tribute.

"Like any family experiencing such a loss, we are heartbroken and have been managing as best we can. As parents, it is so difficult losing a child. My heart goes out to all who have suffered a similar loss, and to anyone who has lost a loved one," Gary wrote. "We’ve all experienced it in some way. Over the years I have met so many families of our fallen heroes."
