Donald Trump confirms he will not be leaving the 2024 presidential race

Former President Donald Trump confirmed that he will not be leaving the 2024 presidential race despite the ongoing legal battle over his alleged mishandling of classified documents.

Trump promised to “never leave” the race even if he is convicted on any one of the 38 felony charges that he's facing.

Trump told Politico on Saturday that, "I’ll never leave. Look, if I would have left, I would have left prior to the original race in 2016. That was a rough one. In theory that was not doable."

Special Counsel Jack Smith indicted Trump last Thursday for his alleged mishandling of classified documents. Trump claims he did nothing wrong, and it was within his prerogative to declassify documents when he was President.

The case promises to be an intense legal battle and Trump explained, "Nobody wants to be indicted. I don’t care that my poll numbers went up by a lot. I don’t want to be indicted. I’ve never been indicted. I went through my whole life, now I get indicted every two months. It’s been political."

While Trump may not care right now that his poll numbers are rising, he will next year if he wins the GOP nomination. If Trump can hold it together and expose this indictment as the political witch hunt that it seems to be, he will easily beat President Joe Biden next November.
