DNA evidence from JonBenet Ramsey murdered analyzed with new DNA testing technology

 November 25, 2023

The mysterious death of JonBenet Ramsey has captivated the country -- and the world -- for decades.

Thanks to evolving technology, especially in the area of forensics and DNA tech, the case could catch a massive break in the near future.

According to a report by The Independent, new breakthroughs in the case could be on the horizon as DNA collected at the then-little girl's house some 27 years ago has been tested with new technology.

The results, many hope, will finally determine who killed the then-six-year-old girl in her own home in a gruesome strangling death.

While testing the DNA using the new technology has been completed, results have not yet been made available to the public.

The outlet noted:

Law enforcement officials in Boulder, Colorado, recently received a detailed report outlining the results of the testing, The Messenger reported on Monday. Some of the materials had previously been examined, while others were sent out for testing only two months ago.

Last month, the deceased girl's father, John Ramsey, expressed optimism for the first time in a long time as pointed to new leadership in the chain of authorities responsible for the murder investigation.

He also expressed hope that the new DNA testing technology will lead to new information that could pinpoint the suspect in his daughter's death.

"We’re very hopeful," he said at the time. "We know there was evidence taken from the crime scene that was never tested."

Notably, a local police source made a statement regarding the results of the new testing but didn't give much in the way of detail.

"Time will tell if this is the evidence needed to solve this case,” the source reportedly told The Messenger. "I hope we get answers and more importantly, I hope her family finally gets answers."

It remains unclear when the newly tested evidence report will be made available to the public.
