Chicago, site of Democrat convention next year, sees 18 shot over the weekend

Less than a year from now, the nation's most prominent Democrats will descend on the liberal stronghold of Chicago, a city that also boasts one of the highest rates of gun deaths in the country.

Chicago will be the site of the Democrat National Convention next August, where the presidential nominee will be officially chosen amid the gunfire.

What a fitting location to symbolize the disaster that befalls when Democrats are left in charge for more than 50 years.

Last weekend alone, almost 20 people were shot in the city. By some miracle, they all survived, at least so far.

So far this year, 420 people have been killed in Chicago in 2023.

In all of last year, 695 people were killed, and 2,832 were shot in the city.
