Actress turns to faith amid personal trials
Roma Downey is probably best known for being one of the stars of Touched by an Angel, but now she's sharing a bit about the part of her life that many people never realized existed.
"My mother died when I was just a little girl," Roma recently opened up. "I was only 10. And I can honestly say if we hadn’t had our faith to support us and our church community to surround us … life brought us to our knees."
While it's not fun to hear that Roma's mother died at an age when Roma might have needed her most, this is a wonderful message of encouragement for anyone who may be going through a similar trial.
"While we were down there, we prayed," the actress shared. "We prayed for strength, we prayed for understanding, we prayed for comfort. And the Lord provided. [Faith is] central to who I am and in my work."
We support Roma and her entire family and are so pleased that she is able to turn a tragedy into something inspirational for others.
