WWE Star Virgil Passes Away At Age 61

 March 1, 2024

His name was Michael Jones, but anyone who grew up watching their larger-than-life idols on WWE know him better as Virgil.

Virgil has passed away at only age 61.

From 1987 to 1991, Virgil was famous for being Ted "Million Dollar Man" Dibiase's bodyguard, and he even filmed numerous segments in which he shared the screen with Andre the Giant.

Often, Virgil would serve as the "gatekeeper" for his more famous partner.

When rivals of DiBiase wanted a piece of the Million Dollar Man, Ted would often force them to get through Virgil to prove that they were tough enough to deserve a shot at him.

In recent years, Virgil worked for All Elite Wrestling, which currently serves as the main alternative to WWE for fans of wrestling who might not want to support the family of Vince McMahon.

He appeared with that organization during 2019 and 2020, showing that you're never too old to pursue your dreams.

Rest in Peace, Virgil.

A lot of kids' childhoods wouldn't have been the same without you.
