WH Communications Director Kate Bedingfield To Step Down

 February 11, 2023

Kate Bedingfield has been with President Joe Biden every step of the way since his inauguration in 2021.

She won't be any longer.

The White House communications director is now poised to become the FORMER communications director.

Bedingfield recently made the announcement, saying that she will step down from her current role at the end of February 2023.

This marks the end of her second tenure serving Biden. Bedingfield had previously been Joe's communications director back when Joe was Vice President back in 2015 and 2016.

It shouldn't be noted that Kate Bedingfield isn't officially out the door yet, and that she has made this announcement and changed her mind at least once before. Last summer, she announced she was departing Joe Biden's team. She never did.

Biden released a statement thanking Kate Bedingfield and welcoming her replacement, Ben LaBolt. It said:

Since my time as Vice President, Kate has been a loyal and trusted adviser, through thick and thin. She was a critical strategic voice from the very first day of my presidential campaign in 2019 and has been a key part of advancing my agenda in the White House. The country is better off as a result of her hard work and I’m so grateful to her — and to her husband and two young children — for giving so much. Ben has big shoes to fill.
