West Palm Beach man arrested for violent threats against Donald Trump
A West Palm Beach man has been arrested and charged with one count of electronic threats to kill or do bodily harm to President Donald Trump after his Facebook account containing dozens of threats to Trump was reported to the FBI.
46-year-old Shannon Depararro Atkins was arrested on Friday evening during a traffic stop after three bags of white powder, which police confirmed was cocaine, were found in his possession.
Atkins was subsequently charged with possessing cocaine as well as initiating the aforementioned threats to harm President Trump in his Facebook posts.
One of those posts by Atkins read, "Bullets please. Please Jesus! Save America," in response to a post about Trump's inauguration as "the day of Mourning for USA."
In another post, Atkins said, "I've been banned from "X", because I said I hope and pray someone kills him. We haven't had an assassination in years."
This kind of language and behavior is unacceptable, particularly in the wake of multiple attempts on Trump's life. Atkin's arrest is a reminder that Democrats have been inciting violence against Trump for years, and he may never be truly safe.
